#SFBATKID ( Bat Kid ) 2013

This trend was about a 5-year-old child named Miles who was battling cancer and wanted to be Batman for a day. The Make-A-Wish-Foundation made his dream come true by turning San Francisco into the city of Gotham from the Batman comics. His day was filled with events only a superhero could complete. He first saved a damsel in distress from being tied up on the train tracks. He then stopped the Riddlers bank robbery attempt and went to grab some food at his favorite burger place. Finally, he saved the SF Giants mascot, Lou the Seal, from the clutches of the Penguin. Thousands of people attended and filled the streets of the city. He was given the key to Gotham and celebrated with the city. Clever Girls Collective threw it on Twitter and it took off from there. Hundreds turned to thousands, then millions. People from around the world including the President at the time, Obama, congratulated Miles for his bravery. Famous Sports teams, Singers, Actors, and common folk praised him and the Make-A-Wish-Foundation for supporting a child's dream. In the end, the total amount of people who supported Miles was around 1.7 Billion.

#McDStories ( McDonald Stories ) 2012

In 2012 McDonald's wanted to start a campaign involving heart-whelmed stories about customer experiences. Unfortunately, it turned out to be horror stories about the company. Customers were quick to jump on telling their worst stories and experiences about the company using the #McDStories hashtag. One of them is about a woman in 1989 who got food poisoning from eating there and just decided not to go back ever again. She then said she should have sued because of how big McDonalds has become today. This went viral and jumped up to 13 million people leaving stories about the company. Some were good but the majority of it was horror stories. McDonald's quickly discontinued the hashtag and it was taken down within a few hours. It was too late though, the damage was done and the stories can still be seen today if you search the hashtag.
