As a child, I always wanted to stand out. Not in the way you think, I was not the person to try and prove I was the best or something. I wanted to stand out and be left alone. I wanted to be an outsider, the man behind the curtain, I never really fit in with people my age. I like to tell people I am an old man on the inside, more mature for my age. The same thing comes out in my work. I make things because I have a passion for it, I don't make things to please others. If you do not like it, oh well. It does not phase me.
Of course, when it comes to clients, I am not designing for myself. I am unique because I can switch off my personal impulses when it comes to others. I look at things with an open mind and try to see it from their eyes. I try to connect with people on a personal level to find out their needs. Most people in my field will just try to sell them something short term. I look at it and think about how this might affect it in the long run. I go above and beyond expectations. I am easy to work with and don't try to force my ideas onto you. When I work with my clients I create a bond.
